Contact The Artist About This Artwork
My ex-boyfriend, a truffle farmer in East Griqualand, and I shared a passion for road trips. During one journey, we encountered Grace in a village in the Eastern Cape during a Xhosa celebration. Her quiet demeanor, the lines of experience etched on her face, and her traditional clothing filled me with a deep desire to capture her in a painting.
