I hadn’t used pastels for 5 years when I worked on this painting. It brought back nostalgic memories of my life in Mauritius and plein air painting sessions with art friends and the most incredible, international award winning, pastel artist, Siddick Nuckcheddy. I will always be eternally grateful for my two incredible Mauritian art teachers, Kishore Bodha and Siddick Nuckcheddy.
